      The Director coordinates the overall assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care and patient education for Perioperative Services. Responsible for the provision of accurate and appropriate patient care, customer satisfaction, service growth and development, and financial success of the services. Responsible for developing and maintaining communication channels and participatory opportunities for staff, identifying, and improving faulty processes encouraging change and innovation, and recruiting, hiring, and helping new employees to maximize potential and productivity.

      MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
      1. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required. Master's Degree in Nursing or a Health Care related field required.
      2. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia. Certification in area of specialty required or within 1 year of hire.
      3. Advanced administrative skills at the level generally acquired through at least seven (7) years in an acute care setting to include nursing practice, education, and leadership experience. Perioperative experience strongly preferred.
      4. Knowledge and mastery of information systems and software commonly used in healthcare to support operational and clinical activities.
      5. Experience in project development and implementation, to include both clinical and financial criteria required.
      6. Current CPR Certification required.
